Joshua Huskey 
My name is Joshua Husky. I am 25 years old and I’m from Tuckerman, AR. I arrived here at the ministry in November, 2006, after my life reached rock bottom. I started doing drugs when I was in the 9th grade. I started smoking pot, which led to crystal meth. At that point, my world revolved around getting high or finding a way how to get high. My addictions took over my life. At first I hid it from everybody. No one really knew, but after a while I didn’t care what anyone thought. I ended up losing my family. My mom and step dad wouldn’t have anything to do with me. I would go visit my mom and after 15 minutes I would wear out my welcome. I would sleep in barns and such and just go down when my body gave out. After realizing that this was not the way I wanted to live the rest of my life, I knew there had to be a better way. I came to John 3:16 ministries after I researched other rehabs. I really didn’t think a little place in Charlotte, Ar. could offer so much. I came here on Nov, 12th, 2006. I never knew that something like this could be in Arkansas. I started taking Bible class and learning from everybody here. The men here came from the same background that I came from. Some were even worse. The men here were happy and joyful and still I couldn’t understand why. On Dec, 7th, 2006 I dedicated my life to Jesus and was saved. From that day on I have been happy. I’ve had bad days since then but, the worst days since then, are so much better than the best days before. My family has been restored. On my dad’s side, I have so many brothers and sisters that I would love to spend time with that I would have to quit my job just to do so. I am so thankful that I have a good steady job. One thing I was taught here was to work hard and be consistent. We don’t just sit around and go to classes. We get out and work. That’s something I think is awesome. Being here as a resident helped me get my work ethic back. When I came to the ministry I weighed less than 200lbs. Now I weigh 250lbs. I have a good truck to drive, a roof over my head and I have a great job. I am dating a good Christian woman and she is the main reason why I don’t mess up. I graduated John 3:16 on July 14, 2007 and went on to the unity house for 6 months. After the 6 months, I moved out of the ministry on Dec. 27th, 2007. I visit the ministry as much as I can, but my home church is Calvary Baptist Church, where I now attend regularly. More Testimonials |
