Bill Weaver

I am Bill Weaver and I am 39 years old. I grew up in
South Haven MS just south of Memphis. I grew up in church and by the age of
12. I was given the option to stay in church or not and I chose not too.
When I was in school I wanted to fit in with the “in crowd”. So I started to
run around with some folks I knew better than to run around with. They were
smoking pot, cigarettes, etc. I started trying it to fit in with the crowd
and did that for several years. Then I got out of school and went to work. I
continued drinking and doing drugs. I was trying to find a peace with all
the stress in the world. I turned to several things trying to get that inner
peace. In the year 2000 I quit work and heard about a ministry in North
Carolina. I went out there and received a good introduction to the Bible a
good reintroduction to God. Due to my choices and decisions I was not ready
to surrender to him yet. I went on from there until July of 2005. I heard
about John 3:16 ministries in Charlotte, AR. and came out, spent six months,
graduated and was given more than enough foundation. I learned the
scriptures and step by step what God has done for me. That he wants me for
who I am and not what I am. There is nothing I have done that can achieve
enough to be acceptable to him. It’s just a gift and all I have to do is
accept it. I had tried for years to change myself and had others try to
change me. Nothing was possible without the help of the Lord. He has changed
my heart and the way I think. He has changed me from the inside out. In
2007, I moved to Charlotte, AR from Memphis, TN, I went back to college. I
met the lady that is now my wife and we just celebrated our one year
anniversary. It’s funny because I had given up on finding a girlfriend or a
wife because I had decided that was not for me. That is when God brought me
to the point where he showed me this is what I have for you. Life is easier
now there are still challenges and surprises. I have the foundation now to
know that no matter what happens I will eventually go home to be with Jesus
Christ. He has given me the same thing in my marriage. We have no major
disagreements. We have our struggles but, we know we are going to be there
for each other. It’s just a glimpse of what Jesus Christ is doing for us. I
praise God for the opportunity to be her husband and her daughters step
father. I pray every day to be a good example not only to my family but, to
the people I work with as well. I have the opportunity through my work going
to different houses and businesses all over the county. Where God opens the
door for me to give my testimony and share what Jesus Christ has done for
me. I praise God for opportunity to have come to John 3:16, to graduate and
to move here. So I could give back some of what he has given me. I am not
proud of what I have done in the past and the deep pit I sank into but, it
proves that there is nothing that Jesus Christ can’t pull you out of. He
offers a free gift to every one of us on earth and all we have to do is
accept it. He has given us his word with all the stories about Israel,
through the disciples, etc. I praise God for the opportunity to share my
testimony. Thank you.
